Professor in Dept of Art Studio, University of California, Santa Barbara (until present); working primarily in digital media, including gallery, public, and publishing-specific projects; solo exhibit in New York at TAMA Gallery (2003) was TriBeCa-specific. Her new exhibit, The Biggest Seed Fruit Nut in the World opens April 24 (2008) and runs through June 30. The work is a celebration and mash-up of the coconut and housing possibilities. Amongst the many uses of the coconut is its less tangible ability to embody hope, delirium, and functionality. Digital images, collage, and animation feature a collision of coconuts, palm trees, housing, and mistakes. Protagonists, in the form of women in red caps, populate the thematically linked and pattern-fixated series of works.
