Ruth Hardinger was born in Albia, Iowa, and studied at the Art Students League of New York with Theodoros Stamos. She has exhibited widely, both nationally and internationally, at such venues as the Brunnier Museum, Museo de arte contemporanea (Oaxaca, Mexico), Islip Art Museum, and many galleries. She has received grants and fellowships including a Fulbright Grant to Oaxaca, Mexico. Her work is in such collections as the New York Public Library, Chase Manhattan Bank, the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art, and numerous private collections. Hardinger lives and works in New York City.
