Scharlin-Chafin Studio
The Scharlin Chafin Studio produces custom tables made from a collection of rare tropical hardwood. Their designs incorporate simple modern forms and special finishes with unique bases that together provide a rare mix of old and new. The combination of their access to beautiful hardwood slabs, commitment to uncompromising craftsmanship, and shared affinity for grace through simplicity produces work with a timeless serene elegance. Existing pieces can be purchased from TAMA Gallery, previous designs can be reworked to accommodate the client's specifications or new designs may be commissioned to suit particular needs or environments. Craig Scharlin, TAMA Gallery co-owner, and Mary Ann Chafin, artist and master finisher, formed the Scharlin Chafin Studio to design and produce tables exclusively for TAMA Gallery. They work in collaboration with other craftsmen and artists in realizing their designs and visions.
